Miami Open Competition - August 20 to
22, 2010 (By popular demand
the application deadline is extended to July 20th. Many skaters and
coaches are out of State this weekend.)
The IJS competition will
include Well Balanced and Test Track events. The IJS Computer system will
be used (not paper) for all Juvenile to Senior, Short and Long programs.
There will also be a
Basic
Skills Competition.

Test Sessions Confirmed*-
Test candidates must submit a test application with
payment (check) immediately to reserve a test. Non home club members may
test (space allowing) provided that they have a permission to test letter
from the home club.
Low test session* - August 1, 2010
High test session* - August 20, 2010
*Please be aware that this is one of the
last opportunities in Florida to test under the old Moves in the Field
test structure. The new system goes into effect on Sept. 2. Priority
will be given to those skaters who are trying to qualify for Regionals.
Test candidates should have a serious discussion with their coach about
their test readiness and when to transition to the new system. Please be
aware that the national average for testing is approximately one year per
test level. If you just recently passed a test you should confer with your
coach. It may be wiser to begin training on the new test elements. For the

Membership for 2010-11 is now due!
The USFS membership year starts on July 1.
Please be aware that you may not compete or test without proof of
current membership.

World Championship News Karina Johnson
representing
Denmark makes final rounds at the 2010 World Jr. Championships in The Hague,
Netherlands with a final placement of 16th.
Karina will also compete at the 2010 World Championships in Torino, Italy.
Karina is a long time member of the Miami FSC.
2010 PSA Moves In The Field Seminar
On and off-ice educational event for Coaches and Judges on the "New" Moves
in the Field. The seminar was held at Kendall Ice Arena on April 25,
2010. PSA educational credits and judges CEU's were rewarded for

News: Luiz Manella qualifies for the 2010
USFS Junior Nationals in Strongsville, Ohio.
Luiz placed 4th in the Intermediate Mens event at
the 2010 USFS South Atlantics Regional Championship in Rockville,
Maryland.
Congratulations to our 2010 South Atlantics Regional
Competitors Genevieve Federhofer, Avyane Lee (Intermediate
Ladies), Luiz Manella (Intermediate Men), Anastasia Cubas, Katrina Hosein,
Amber Martinez, and Tiffany Martinez (Juvenile Ladies).
