join at any time. Skaters under 18 must also join with a parent or
guardian. Typically your coach will advise you to join because you are
ready for USFS testing (Pre Preliminary, Adult Pre Bronze, etc). The club
provides official USFS Testing and this is one of the major advantages of club
membership.

Individual Membership.*
$85.00
(per year) will include:
Skaters eighteen (18) years of age or older. These members
shall be eligible to hold office, to serve on the Board
of Directors, to chair committees and to vote.
The member will receive an individual U.S. Figure Skating
membership card, a U.S. Figure Skating lapel
pin
(first year only).
The current version of the U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook (if
the member is at the Juvenile Level or above).
Year subscription to the U.S. Figure Skating Magazine.
Access to all test sessions and activities hosted by the Club.
Family Membership
$85.00 / add $35.00
(per subsequent member) will include:
One skater in a family under the age of eighteen (18); these
skaters shall not be eligible to vote, hold office, serve
on the Board of Directors, or chair committees.
At least one parent/guardian from that family who will
represent the interests of the above mentioned
skaters under 18.
More than one (1) parent/guardian may join this class of
membership and each may be eligible to hold
office and to serve on committees. However, only one (1)
parent/guardian per family shall be eligible to
vote and only one (1) Officer per family is allowed.
The parents membership automatically terminates when the
youngest skater in the family becomes
eighteen (18) years old, or when all skaters under eighteen
(18) years old in the family cease to be Club
members. Parents may continue their membership under the
Associate Membership class.
Each family member will receive an individual U.S. Figure
Skating membership card, and U.S. Figure
Skating lapel pin (first
year only).
The family, as a whole,
will receive a year subscription to the U.S. Figure Skating Magazine.

Professional Membership
$35.00
(per year) will include:
Both ineligible and restricted professionals, as defined by
the current U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook. Professional
members of the Club shall not be eligible to hold office, to
serve on the Board of Directors, to chair committees, or
to vote. They may enter into, and take part in all discussions
at General Meetings, but may not submit motions.
They may also be requested by the Board of Directors to act in
an advisory capacity to committees, at Board
Meetings, and at General Meetings. Professional who cease to
be professionals, as defined by the current U.S.
Figure Skating Rulebook may, upon receipt of U.S. Figure
Skating amateur status, become Individual or Associate
Members with all rights under those membership classes.
The member will receive an individual U.S. Figure Skating
membership card.

Second Club Membership
$35.00
(per year, per member) and will include:
A skater, or skaters in a family, who have a home club other
than Miami FSC.
They may participate in all activities of the club, and
participate in test sessions paying the same fee as
home club members.
The skater/s or their parents/guardians shall not be eligible
to hold office, to serve on the Board of
Directors, to chair committees, or to vote.
Associate Membership.
$35.00 (per year) will include:
Non skaters eighteen (18) years of age, or older, who are
interested in the sport of figure skating and wish to
support the Club.

Board of Directors, to chair committees and
to vote.
Question:
My coach says I am ready for USFS testing. What
do I do now?
Answer: Test Applications are
available on this website in the download section or in the Kendall Ice Arena
Skating Academy Office. Fill out the test applications before the deadline
to be sure that you reserve a testing slot. Test sessions fill up rapidly.
Your coach must sign the application certifying that you are test ready.
If you are a minor your parent or guardian must also sign the application.
A check or money order must accompany the application. The Club does not
accept credit card payments. Non Home Club members may test (Space allowing)
provided that they have a permission to test letter from their home club. See
the question below about how to prepare for "Test" day.
Question: What are some of the
benefits and functions of Club Membership?
Answer: The Club provides:
USFS Testing Sessions
Club Outings like, Stars On Ice, Picnics, Bingo Night,
Halloween Party, etc.
Financial assistance for skaters who qualify for the Regional

CHECKLIST FOR TEST CANDIDATES
Prior to Test Day
Complete test application and fill in all requested
information, including membership number.
Submit completed application and fees prior to deadline.
If you are testing with a club other than your home club,
request that your home club test chair or
officer send the necessary permission to the host club.
Provide proof of having passed the prerequisite test
requirement.
If you have a special need or request let the test chair
know as far in advance as possible.
If after applying for a test you find you cannot make it,
notify the test chair immediately.
Check with the test chair in advance to determine if club
uses a cassette player, CD player or both.
Test Day
Plan to arrive one hour prior to your scheduled warm-up time
unless instructed otherwise.

Something to do quietly until test time (book, Walkman
with headphones, etc.)

11. Dress properly for the test – girls, nice dress and sweater; boys, nice
pants and top.
12. Upon arriving at
the rink check in with test chair or assistant and determine if there has been

schedule changes.
13. Turn in your tape or CD. Make sure tape is rewound and that tape or CD
is clearly marked with
your name. Again, have a backup just in case something happens to original.
14. Keep your voice down so as not to interrupt another tester’s
concentration.
15. Have skates on
and be ready to get on the ice when called.
16. Be aware of which end of the ice you will be starting your test.
During Test
17. Prior to starting your test introduce yourself to the judging panel.
18. Wait for a signal from the judge-in-charge or other official prior to
starting test and each move.
19. During moves in the field tests you may speak BRIEFLY with your coach
between moves but NOT
between changes of direction. However, skater should be ready to start when
signaled to do so.
