Dear Skating Families,

It’s hard to believe that the Holiday Season is here!

For this year’s Club Gratitude Project, we will be participating in Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child is a global program facilitated through volunteers in more than 100 countries.

More information can be found at:

Participating is easy, and a great way to give back to children ages 2 - 14 in need.  3 Volunteer hours will be awarded per box donated.

Simply pick up a red and green box in the office at the rink, decide whether you will helping a boy or girl, and which age you will be filling the box for.   The ages are 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14.

Be sure to also pick up a label to identify the gender/age of the box you are filling.  These are also available in the office.

Your box will contain:

  1. A “wow” item

  2. Personal care items

  3. Clothing or Accessories

  4. Crafts and Activities

  5. Toys

  6. A personalized note and or photo, if you wish.  If you include your name and address, the child may be able to write back.

Click on this link for more detailed information of what to include based on age:

Some things NOT to include:  Candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, scary or war related items, knives,  chocolate or food, liquids, medications, aerosol cans.

Please bring your filled box back to the rink office by the collection deadline of Friday, November 19th so that we may deliver to the Samaritian’s Purse for distribution to children globally.

Should you wish to track your box and know it’s end destination, you can purchase a pre-paid tracking label at samaritanspurse.org for $9 and attach to your box.

Let’s make a difference to those that are not as fortunate.
